That obviously doesn't fit your description but I mention it as an example of a disturbing thing that can happen with sleep disruption and it is nobody's fault...you emphasized that the sex was consensual. I once took a phone call which woke me out of a deep sleep and I felt like it wasn't really happening. It was bizarre. Perhaps your doc will suggest a sleep study? For now, it seems important to talk it over with your partner and emphasize that you should not be woken up for sex under and circumstances. Hope your MD helps! Good luck and best wishes
I was thinking a sleep disorder too. I suffer with intense sleep paralysis so it could make sense to be something similar!!! Doc said most likely stress triggered it as I have been going through a tough time recently.
Our mind and body sure can be strange at times... lol!

Yes, the mind-body connection is powerful And stress can cause all kinds of quirky things. Ever tried acupuncture/TCM? It has helped me with migraine, hormone imbalance, anxiety, and depression. Just an idea for you.

Peace and good health to you Zedsdead

To be honest, I'm feeling better now that I have upped the meds, a little sad because my plan was to be off them soon, but I think I carry too much trauma that needs to be released before I do.

Going to look into therapy of some sort and make my mental health a priority

Thank you again for the replies.

I am glad you feel better now. Medications are there for a reason. If we need them we need them. Good luck in finding a therapist.
