Default Anyone Tried Meditations for Chronic Pain?

I think I might have some symptoms of a somatic disorder, mostly related to stress, fatigue and sleepless nights.

I also experience migraines, and have seen information that suggests that meditation is useful for chronic pain.

Has anyone else found meditation to be useful? Have any links you'd like to share?

It appears that biofeedback is also effective as a therapy for somatic disorders.

I am just now seeing this thread. I take Cymbalta, an SRNI that really does help with chronic pain.

Thanks for the input, and the recommended medication.... but, have you ever tried meditation?

Whoops! I'm sorry...I read 'meditation' as 'medication.'

Have you read Full Catastrophe Living, by Jon Kabat-Zinn?

I do use meditation for chronic pain, and for anxiety. Meditation helps the anxiety more than it does the pain...that said, meditation helps me live with the pain, to a degree.

I second Full Catastrophe Living, the best book ever for mindful based stress reduction. For some people it is enough and for others will be a useful adjunct to medication.
