Remember the feeling of pulling a glass bottle of Coke out of a vending machine? The machine would have a bottle opener built in.

For some reason bottle caps remind me of these dorky hats the adults wore up at the lake. They were of knitted squares sewed together with alternate color yarn.

Wait...upon further thinking of this I think the hats were made from beer cans and sewed together with yarn. Soda cans too. I have to go google this the memories are teasing me.

Yes, it was a thing! Crochet hats with the aluminum cans. I think it was a vacation thing tho.

Do you remember the sound of driving over the black hose at gas stations?

A nice man would walk up to find out what you needed. Fillerup check the oil (pull dip stick, wipe, insert, pull and look, put it back), and clean windows!!

We don’t have full service where I am

I do remember that it was discontinued soon after I got my license. I remember driving to the only remaining full service station cause I didn't want to smell like gasoline.

Did anyone else make juvenile prank phone calls?

To a tobacco shop: Do You have Prince Albert in a can? Well, you'd better let him out!!!

To a bowling alley: Do you have 10 pound balls? How in the heck do you walk!?

To a household: Is your refrigerator runing? Well, you'd better catch it!!!

To a gas station: Have you pumped ethyl lately?

& on & on they went...Pretty juvenile, but we had odd senses of humor.

We didn't do that but we did listen in on the party line. Remember calling for the time?
