i miss being able to hold onto a paper bag~ (i've lost my grip, and my skin is sooo dry.)
our store gives a choice of paper or plastic for free (even doubled bagged plastic), and sells nice long-lasting insulated plastic bags with nice handles and a zipper for $3.49. i went a little nutty and got 4 of them~

i also have acquired 4 canvas bags with long handles from various places, and i use those for canned goods ( i buy with wet cat food at about 40 cans a month~! eeeeek, at $0.50 cents a can, you know i love the little chits.)

what i REALLY MISS is not knowing how much groceries cost a month~!

I don't miss Rubik's Cube because I found one in the drug store the other day! I bought it too. I had one when I was a kid and I solved it in 3 days back then. Now I cannot remember how I did it! So what I miss is the solution to the cube, although there is a webpage that does teach you how to do and probably some videos on Youtube too. However, I want to see if I can figure it out on my own....

Me too!! Enjoyed the old catalogs and making paper dolls with the cutouts with my grandma. Thanks for the memory!!

Oh yes, PAPER DOLLS! My grandmother used to always save the "Betsy McCall" paper doll for me.

She baked the best sugar cookies from scratch too! And apple pies.

Crazy Re: Things you miss from the past

I can't find the original post to "quote" it, but I remember the Sears "Wishbook" they had during Christmas when I was kid. I miss it even though I haven't been a kid for decades! I used to go through it and circle all the toys I wanted for Christmas.

And I find it sad that Sears is now struggling......It used to be the "go to" place for everything.
