Default STIGMA

I find there is stigma that elder folks don't have enough money to pay for the groceries once they're in line; and that they are going to be asking some other person in line for monetary assistance.

Did someone react to you like that recently? I haven't had it happen to me, either. Maybe it's more likely in different regions of the country, too?

I have never heard of this stigma before personally.

What I have heard of (and seen a few times) is when an older person will pay with small change and take quite a while to pay, but I have never seen it where they don't have the money. That's a big difference.
