Default Rant on University classes

I'm so frustrated...one of my classes (well, it's two classes that sometimes combine) require FIVE readings with reflections next week. Half of the reading is supposed to be online, but only Monday's is posted. I have Monday and Friday done because I have access to the entire reading. I need to get them done this weekend because I have little to no time next week and I don't want to be any more stressed out!

So what do I do? Do I do the immoral thing and write all the reflections for Tuesday-Thursday even though I only have part of the reading (and only one page of Wednesday's ) and therefore probably not finish the reading when it finally gets posted (if it ever does)? Or do I wait and get stressed out trying to fit the readings and written reflections into an extremely busy schedule?

I'm starting to think it's their own damn fault if I don't read everything I'm "supposed to" if they don't post it within a reasonable time ahead of time. A lot of the readings and frankly a lot of these classes are a joke, at least the way they're run. I learn way more by going out and working/volunteering in the field rather than sitting around and reading book after damn book. But it's what the state requires so I must! Disgusting.

And writing a reflection on every reading assignment is just patronizing...especially since it's a ridiculous number and is doubled up with other assignments.

I understand what you are going through. You should contact the professor and see what can be done to avoid this problem in the future.

Part of going to College/University in paying your dues. I know some teachers who do exactly what you said and just tell me "tough it out."

I am sorry your so stressed... Are you doing anything that can help you cut the stress down and still get the job done?

How did your pdoc appointment go last week? Did you share everything that was going on with you? It is important to be open with them if you want your treatment to accomplish something.

Is it immoral to just do the assignments with the readings I have and not waiting for the entire thing to be posted?

I really shouldn't still be paying "dues". I've gotten my degrees and am just going back for a few state required classes.

I'm not really stressed about classes nor do I need to tough anything out. I just want to know if it's immoral to half-*** my "job" if the professors are half-***ing theirs?

I don't think it's immoral. I scraped by in college barely doing any of the reading. I was able to talk and write and kind of make it seem like I knew what I was doing. If they're not giving you the readings in time, you may have to do what you have suggested.

University is about hitting yourself on the head with a ballpoint hammer. They don't really care how you hit yourself, just so long as you sustain enough damage. It's best if you don't kill yourself for their pleasure.

Do as much as you can. I realize this was posted a long time ago. But when I would feel stressed in university, it was because I was procrastinating in some way and due to an identifiable cause. Do you feel stressed because of that?
