Unhappy Asking for prayers for my ailing grandfather.

I just found out that my 87 year old grandfather is in the hospital because he is having trouble breathing. It's not pneumonia, but complications from his COPD (a result of smoking when he was younger). He's been on oxygen, but refuses to use it at night when in bed due to being a stubborn old codger. That probably exacerbated the issue.

Anyways, I'm asking for you all to keep my family in your thoughts and prayers as we deal with this, especially my Grandmother.

Okay, Grandpa has been released and is back in his apartment with Grandma. He is now breathing easier, and probably will give in and where his oxygen when sleeping at night.

He and Grandma live in an apartment that's part of a sort of graduated assisted living style retirement facility. Basically, the residents can live in a variety of assisted living arrangements, depending on their level of need. My grandparents, being both stubborn and still able to mostly take care of themselves, live in the apartment building. This building is attached via a set of large double doors to a specialized hospital facility that takes care of the residents when they need to be hospitalized for whatever reason. Grandpa literally was wheeled down the hall and through the double doors to the hospital section via a wheelchair.

The best part of the arrangement is that my aunt, one of their identical triplet girls, and her husband live across the street from the building, so they are frequent visitors. Grandma also knows how to email and has a Facebook account (She is pretty smart and always up for learning some knew skill, so long as it isn't beyond complicated for her), so she keeps the family updated on a regular basis. Ironic because she is also the more introverted of the two, preferring the quiet simplicity of walking around on the family farm, rather than having to sit around and socialize with the other residents during coffee in the mornings and bingo. Grandpa, on the other hand, is the social butterfly and loves his social coffee time in the morning and playing cards and bingo.
