I donít control these things, I just believe it to be true. If karma exists, then Iíve suffered my whole life due to past sins.

What do you mean by that exactly? It doesn't make me feel better. I just believe karma exists. Either you believe or you don't. Nothing makes me feel better...... I have suffered for a lifetime, I've had a lifetime of abuse, despite being a very good person, with a heart of gold, doing good deeds. That doesn't make me feel good.

Karma is to agree to be accountable for our actions...to take responsibility for that which we choose to do, which actions we take - or don't take.

To believe that there is an all-powerful force that rewards or punishes each individual for our actions is, I think, illogical. Such a belief claims there is a "personal God" or a personal universal force that tallies up every individual's actions. Silliness. Also, would I mercilessly punish my child for the actions s/he took? Would I give that child cancer if I could...or kill it in a car wreck...send a family to the gas chamber in Auschwitz? Of course not! So why, unless God is a psychopath, why would that God punish people in such a way? Who is judging our actions in such an unforgiving way? How can we, as human beings, possibly comprehend the entire scope of what is "good" or what is "bad"? That's black and white thinking, when most (if not all) actions are grey.

Let's say that someone is a drug addict. Yes, s/he has chosen to use, BUT perhaps their addiction is genetic in nature. How can anyone say that the action of drug use is good or bad?

All so-called "karma" is, is to be aware of, accept, and hold ourselves accountable (in a non-guilty way) for the action we have taken. To decide if we're okay with what we've done, or if we would prefer to do it differently next time.

Karma is simply a gentle reminder of choice.

That's not what I'm really saying.

Also, this isn't meant to be a religious discussion or a discussion about God and God's powers. We're not even supposed to discuss religious topics on here. How do you know what the real truth is? How does anyone really know? I don't know how the universe works. Who does? NO ONE, including yourself. To call me silly for what I believe in is very insulting. I believe in karma and many people do. I am not the only one in this world who believes it exists. I don't care if others DON'T believe in it, but please don't insult me for my beliefs.

Lastly, karma is built up based on one's actions in one's lifetime. If you collect negative karma for being a bad person in one lifetime, it will come back to get you either in that lifetime or another. The same goes for collecting good karma.

Sorry, I thought seeing the meaning was helpful to you. You said you felt better and things have improved for you.
I thought this philosophy of karma is something that gives you meaning and hope.

I personally believe that babies are born innocent.

I see what you meant now.

I do feel better because all good things have been happening lately, so thank you. It does give me hope because I was told that I've overcome negative karma and that all good things are coming now.

(((Golden Eve))) I hope it exists for those who have done wrong. Like you, that doesn't provide much relief for the pain that was inflicted.
