Default do you feel your age?

question: do you feel your age?

why or why not

I'm 30 and feel about 10

reason being: I've missed out on a lot of experiences and don't have a very good grip on the world

physical age- must be over 100, all this chronic pain.. makes me feel old

In some ways, I still feel like a teenager. I haven't had most 'young adult' experiences, yet, and I haven't left the nest, so to speak.

In other ways, yes, I feel my age. I'm definitely wiser than I was a few years ago, and I learn new things constantly. I am grateful for my good health. I know that I'm still young and still have many years ahead of me, and I'm grateful that the turbulent teenage years are over.

yeah.. with my chronic pain it varies.

I can feel some days like 200, others when I'm not hurting so bad, younger

This question always reminds me of a cool conversation i had with my dad a couple years ago. He would've been ~73 and I would've been ~37. He was reflecting on some of the older friends, relatives, and mentors he'd relied on for advice in his life. It had suddenly dawned on him that HE was the elder person now. He was hoping he was up to the job.
I think it goes to show we might always have the feelings of youth, in questioning things, seeking advice, seeking approval.
BTW he does a very good job. Level Up approved.

No feel 20 years younger than I am. Yet it does seem a person can get jaded with time and like to hold on to optimism and hope, and look to the positive things going on around me.

I'm in my mid-late 40s, but usually feel I'm in my late 30s. My life went on pause, in a sense, at that age. I'm always wondering when I'll have my restart button finally pushed.

Other than being a little chunky and having grey hairs multiplying, physically I feel I look similar to when I was in my mid 30s. Actually, one time at about 31 years old I was only 5 lbs less than I am now, before psych meds. I am developing various older age health issues, like high cholesterol, etc. I wish that stuff disappeared.

I think part of what makes me feel young is also the fact that I never had children. Neither did my husband before we met (he was married once before). Once my early 70s psychiatrist out of nowhere declared I was "old enough to be a grandmother". It was a shocking statement, since I'm not even a mother. It didn't offend me. I thought for a few seconds, and replied that if I did the math he was definitely right. If I had a kid at 20, they could certainly have kids by now. Then I looked at him and exclaimed "You're old enough to be a great grandfather!"

"No!!!!!" he yelled.

"Yes!!!!" I yelled back.

All went quite.

A few appointments later, I looked at him and reminded him he could be a great grandfather. With a big smile on his face, he said the following:

"If I was very young when having a child, and they were young, and their children were young, maybe I could be a great great grandfather."

I smiled at him and all went quiet.

I am 41 and feel like I am 61. I am not dealing with this getting older thing well. Where did all the time go?
