Default needing to take seroquel earlier

Hi
i been on seroquel for a while now i used to take it at 5 and i need to take it at 5;30 to get to sleep ,i need to take it a few hours before i go to bed ,do you think an increase dose will help ? i am on 100mmg right now

I don't know. I seem to remember it knocked me out quickly, but I don't remember what dosage I took. Have you told your doctor about it?

From what I've heard the lower the dosage the more sedating Seroquel is .. I'm on 50 mg PRN for insomnia and it doesn't do much. I used to be on a higher dosage a few years ago (can't remember the dosage but it knocked me DOWN) but I was pulled off due to weight gain. So now that I'm back on it I'm wary of how often I take it. I don't want an increased dosage but I might need to bump up to 100mg to get to sleep properly.

Yes, lower does usually mean more sedating. My doctor explained that it has a paradoxical effect. The lower dosage binds more to histamine (H1) receptors. Thus causing sedation.

I have found that higher dosages make me sedated as well, though this seems to be classified as more of a side effect than the lower dosage and it's sedative effect.

Okay what is the best way to mention this my doctor ? how do i asked him if we can up it
