Default Tell me about your pet's unique quirks

I have many to tell, but I will start with one: if I'm laying in bed, and ask my dog a question ("should we get up?" "need to potty?" "time for breakfast?") her response is to come over and lay down on my face.

You?

The one dog, when she listens, tilts her head 90 degress, like a lot of dogs do but if she is really listening intently, she turns her head 180-200/220 degrees, upside down and further. This I had never seen before. It is almost as if her head in on a swivel and not attached. It freaks people out; it's cute that she tries so hard to understand, I fear she will hurt herself though. However, she does it so fast at times, I expect to see the exorcist come out in my dog for a full 360. Then I will freak out.

One of the other dogs, no matter what we've done will not eat or drink or do anything with things that are stainless steel or look like it. She won't even go near the fridge, stove or dishwasher, so that she won't go in the kitchen. Even the vets table is a struggle. I am out of ideas on how to help her with this. I was told lately to make everything around her stainless to face her fear, sort of like immersion therapy..... we'll see if that might work.

The third dog, knowing how dogs shed, she sheds black balls/large fluffy tufts. She is part Australian Shepard, she herds her tufts by blowing them or shuffling them around into particular corners if I don't get to them first, then sometimes plays with them, tosses them, will roll in them. like kids do with leaves in the fall. Sometimes I let it go, sometimes it makes too much more of a mess. It is fun to watch her play though.

I have a fish that does 2 somersaults before I feed her. Never taught her to do that but the kids love watching her and her excitement.

I used to have a pony (he died in 2010). Besides riding on his back, we'd also have him pull a cart occasionally. If we took the cart from the barn it was kept in (whether because we wanted to use the cart or because it was in the way) the pony would stand at the gate of his paddock and he'd stand there until he was either taken out - to be put before the cart - or the cart would go back into the barn, even if that took hours, he liked pulling the cart that much.

Sir likes to cover his food. He has a paper plate he paws into position over his food when he is done with it and noses off when he's ready to eat more. He's a cat.

Our cat head butts me like a goat when I turn over and stop petting her in bed. It works.

If we ask Virginia Woof, my little dog, what she wants, she rolls her eyes in the direction of whatever it is she's after. Eye roll toward door=out, eye roll toward toy= let's play. It's cute and a little freaky--- is this language?

Our cat would always move food from dish to floor before eating it.

I had a dog that did something similar. One day I was playing with her and coaxed her to tip her head back for some reason I don't remember. I made a fuss over it.

She tried it again later and got a reaction. So she figured it was a good way to get attention.

Thereafter, she would quietly sit down in front of someone -- facing away from them. Then she would tip her head up and back far enough to peer at the person with her eyes. This invariably provoked laughter or at least a smile because it did look funny and quirky. And she would do it to complete strangers because it worked particularly well on them.
