Default Vitamin D deficiency

Has anyone had a vitamin d deficiency? Did you feel any different after raising your levels?

Yes. I have had a vit. D. deficiency and have raised my levels. I feel better, happier, etc. than I did when my level was first measured, but I don't think that the higher level is the only factor in improving my mood.

I've never had my vitamin D levels checked, but I do take a vitamin D supplement. I notice that it has a real impact on my mood, and I'm much less likely to be depressed when I take it.

Vitamin D deficiency

As some of you may know, my blog is currently off-line due to some problems at my previous site host. I'm working with my web master to rebuild and get back on-line.

My blood test results indicated extremely low Vit-D. Primary doc contacted me and recommended 10k units for 2 weeks, then go down to 1K daily. I have seen things improve, from mental health to stronger erections and greater arousal. I hope these changes are real and not just a coincidence and wishful thinking.

It is a coincidence that you posted this.
I have Vit D deficiency, thus as of yesterday, I starting taking 10K vitamin D. I hope that my experience will as positive as the above posters.
I will keep you updated.

I take prescription Vitamin D (2000 IU per day - whatever that means.) As a result, my Vitamin D numbers are back to normal. As another poster wrote, however, it's difficult to isolate which factors make the biggest difference. That stated, I know low levels of Vitamin D are closely associated with depression. As for the poster who suggested he had better erections while on Vitamin D, "Party on dude!"

Maybe i will have something to look forward to in the coming weeks. My levels were also very low. I was prescribed 50000iu vit d, one a week for 8 weeks. We shall see what happens.

A lot of people here up north have low levels. I never noticed a difference taking a supplement even if I tested a bit low. As for being low on B12 the difference was much more noticeable.

I had a really bad vit D deficiency a couple years ago. I mainly had physical symptoms before I got tested for it (I kept getting sick, for one thing). My levels are normal now. Its hard to really say if it changed much but I'm sure its better for my bones!

My vitamin D was a little low. My doctor told me to start taking a supplement. I noticed a slight improvement in my depression but no change in my anxiety.
