Note: This wasn't like a formal meeting at the doctor's office or anything like that. I wasn't diagnosed with anything because it was an informal meeting.

I had a conservation with a doctor about my problems, and she said she's worried about:

- the random periods where I'm sad or the depression spells
- The voices.
- my shyness

I agree with the doctor. These things do raise concern - especially the voices. It sounds as though she has been encouraging however. If it were me I would pursue this further. What has she suggested comes next?

She discussed about ways to cope with my problems.
She recommended me to go to therapy or take medication if it happens again.

It was a one time meeting actually and I only came to her during my vacation, so I might not visit her soon.

She suggested that if the problems occur again, I might have to get therapy or/and take medication.

I agree with your doctor, Usagizzz. Seeking professional help may be useful. I'd suggesto to go to a doctor and get a proper diagnosis before doing anything else. Sending many hugs to you

Hugs therapy is a good start they can refere you to a psychiatrist and that is how I started and got a proper diagnosis. Hugs

I saw noted voices. And as much as I think therapy can help with coping skills, I am a bit dismayed that a referal to a neurologist wasn't mentioned nor is there mention of full bloodwork panels. I'm of a mindset of ruling out physical causes before drawing it into all being an emotional issue. There can be physical even hidden illnesses, dormant illnesses that can trigger these things.

How about a full physical and second opinion? Is that possible?

How do you feel about this? Did she discuss possible diagnoses? Did she discuss what this will entail? Did she discuss with you medication and therapy options? Did she make a referral? What exaclty are the next steps recommended?

How do you feel about advocating for yourself and taking charge of your mental health care? This would involve being proactive as opposed to waiting. Find out for yourself what options exist. Maybe look for a relevant support group.

You have taken the first and hardest step already - asking for help.vWe are all proud of you for that. Now to carry that on. Great luck.
