Default Places to go

Is there any places for adults to go live with others if they were not raised/taken care of properly and who should not live alone? Not necessarily for mental health conditions but you can include it. What places are they? You leave an orphanage at 18 too, I would like to know about places for adults.

Would you possibly be referring to 'Group Homes'? There are homes that exist based on a wide range of independence levels. For instance, some group homes merely supervise (ie. the residents are encouraged to do their own cooking, cleaning and be responsible for their needs). At the opposite end of the spectrum you have homes where every need of the resident is looked after for them. Generally, capability and mental health needs determine the level of 'care'.

The USA has many places for adults when they can not live on their own...

Nursing homes
senior and disables housing
residential treatment programs
retirement communities apartment complexes
Assisted living centers
residential units based on mental or physical health problem.

if you are an adult and feel you can not live alone and care for yourself you will need to contact a treatment provider...

many of these places need a treatment providers referral and paperwork on what you need help with to be done.

then your treatment provider will tell you which places will fit you best according to your capabilities / disabilities/ disorders and diseases.

you can also look in your local phone directory if your town still publishes the phone book.

you can also contact any social services organization. they will be able to tell you what places are available in your location.

you can also google the places and your location, this will tell you what is available in your location and surrounding areas...

Yes, there are group homes and there are, in some cities, communities in which disabled/mentally ill/etc. people live independently, but the apartments are in a complex.

I suppose the way to find out is to contact your regional health authority.
