I have difficulty taking acquaintanceships further into the realm of friendships. I have been hurt by so called friends in the past and thus have some trust issues - even with those I have gotten close to. As a result I tend to remain at arms length. I have numerous aquaintanceships some closer than others. This also allows me some freedom to pull back and withdraw from relationships as my mood, etc, requires.

I am a person to jump in and help acquaintances if need be. I will carry the weight of other's on my shoulders. I will be fiercely loyal. My lack of trust however leads me to question whether I can count on others to do the same.

A friend is someone who listens when you speak, keeps your secrets, does not gossip about you, is reliable and trustworthy, who accepts you for who you are, who does not judge you, who is supportive, and who you can spill your guts to, but he/she will still be there holding your hand.

Somebody you can trust, is dependable , understands and accepts how much you can give to them. To everyone there are limits. Friends should be considerate and fair

There's no definition for 'friend' in my eyes. At least, not one that can be summed up in words to try and explain it.

In the simplest of terms: This person, I like this person. I pick this human as a partner in whatever this thing we call 'life' is.

friends are people we love the most, people who we can rely on, tell anything too without being judged, and also who keep in touch. i had alot of friends in my younger years, but slowly diminished in amount because of life changes etc... a friend is someone who needs you too.

A friend is someone who cares about you, is willing to help you out. They are kind but give constructive criticism when needed.

The one true friendship I have left is the one in which all the good stuff listed here exists, especially reciprocal acceptance of each other, no matter what, 35 yrs later.

A friend is someone who is never afraid to tell you that you got a boogie hanging out your nose...because most people will just let you walk around all day like that
