Hi Maven,

Its very early in the morning here in the UK and I should really be in bed, but I started to read your post and could not tear myself away from the screen until the end. I really, really, feel for you and your situation. I am sure you must go to bed some nights and hope when you wake that everything will be cleaned up.

I was homeless for a while and lived with a hoarder for 6 weeks. It was too much for me. I turned into a nagging bi**h which I've never been before and I lost my voice for a week due to my nagging. Each morning I would wake and be in tears because I could not cope with the mess & clutter. The clutter made my brain feel cluttered & confused. I finally left after 6 weeks and stayed on my mums floor while I looked for a new home.

Its not easy and I admire you for coping with it for so long especially with your disabilities. The man I stayed with was & still is a very kind, thoughtful, person who would help anyone who needed it.

Because of that experience I regularly throw things out that I don't need. I don't have many newly bought things but prize and care for the things I have. I worry that some of your books, art work and other special things may be damaged by cat urine or droppings. That would be awful.

I can see by the photo's you are both doing really well and in a few months you will be nearer the home as you like it, and be working on your computer art projects.

Much love & hugs x

Hi, kipper-bang,
Thanks for your concern. A little progress has been made, but it's still a long way off from getting done. This hot weather doesn't help, especially since we have no working air conditioner since last year. We worry about having to let a repair person in.

I'm not worried about the cats peeing and pooping on my books and stuff that I have stored in plastic totes, because they can't get in most of them. However, I do have some totes that have buckled under the weight of totes on top of them, which I worry about bugs and spiders getting into. Most of my stuff is protected in zipper bags, but that's still not perfect. I keep hoping we'll get more done, and my boyfriend will help me more.

I'm thankful for your message, because I feel like I vent too much, and people get sick of me. People want me to do things I can't do, but trying to explain the reasons is hard, and it would be long, so I don't know if anyone would read it, anyway.

Thank you, Blaire. I hope things go well for you soon, too. It's just one thing after another, and some of the progress we make ends up being a problem again. For example, my boyfriend got some trash picked up from the doorway to my room, but walking into my room tracks more trash.

I'm really concerned about one of my cats, who was panting (none of the other cats were, so I don't think it was just the heat), and I don't know how to catch her to take her to the vet, *if* my boyfriend can be convinced to do so and pay for it.

As if we need more trouble, there was a notice on the door from the Sheriff's Department saying there are papers to be delivered to my boyfriend. We don't know what it's about.

I went to the dentist today, and I think the bite's off a bit, so I'm not in the best of moods. It was pouring rain when I got out, and I stepped in puddles that were higher than my shoes and soaked the bottom of my pants.

And my insurance didn't go through at the dentist, and I had nothing to give them, so they were not happy with me. Not a good day.

She wasn't panting (that I could see) when I got home, but I told my boyfriend that we may have to try to catch her (not easy) and take her to the vet. All the outdoor cats need a checkup, at least.

It turns out that I assumed the wrong cat was the mother. The kittens (there's three or four of them) belong to one of my other cats who has had a couple of litters before.

The cat who was panting is the mother, I believe. She seems ok now, though.
