Default Urination Issues

I am frustrated with something and angry.

Before I had surgery, months before, a year before I was put on the wait list, before that, I started to deal with something. I kept it to myself and then I mentioned it to the surgeon and he decided to investigate while I was under (I had surgery 16 months ago). He looked at my bladder and found nothing worrisome. He said my bladder was in perfect health. Of course I was left in confusion.

I was told let things die down and it will go back to normal. I waited.

Having pain after urinating and being tested many times for infection, blood, etc., in urine turned up with no answers but, "your urine is fine." being left with, why is this happening to me. It was the pain at first, then came when I am at the toilet pulling my pants down I would start to pee, then out and about I would pass urine, wetting my underwear and pants. Then causing my pants to smell.

I complained to the point I cried after being told to wait another couple of weeks. I demanded a specialist. I got the appointment, he basically handed me pills that elderly take to control their bladder function. I took the pills and took over a week to do a slight change for me so the doctor increased it to the maximum amount which helped more. I still had some issues on it but it was minor, the pain after urination stopped but the leakage still occurred (not as often) which wasn't a huge deal but still upsetting.

When I forget to take the medication, well, I go back to where I was before. I forgot to take it and I quickly started to have no control of my bladder, I feel it full when it's not and pee dribble out soaking myself and I am not peeing.

I was told I have bladder spasms. And the specialist said he wouldn't look into my bladder as a surgeon did and found it was normal. This specialist pointed towards that I have stage 1 Endo and it is upsetting because it's more reproductive crap that someone is saying is the cause. To me it doesn't feel this way.

I always, plan my trips if I am able to last before needing a washroom and I can't make it, sometimes, 10 minutes after I emptied my bladder. I dread going out but I do anyways, I wear black pants so it wouldn't show, but I can smell it and I always wonder if others can. When I am home, I always change my underwear. I am at the point in buying senior pads and maybe weigh it before and after to see how much I am peeing.

I am at a loss.

I am calling the specialist tomorrow to schedule an appointment for more testing because this isn't normal for someone in her early-mid-20s.

Is there a test for this sorta thing? Nobody can find anything. No bladder infection, kidneys are fine, ultra sounds are good, so fourth. Is there a test they can do for this issue? Something that will give answers.

I really feel for you. You didn't mention seeing a urologist. I think that could be helpful for you.

There are pants now that don't show through your clothes to help with leakage.

Trying to find relief for a problem is sometimes a frustrating journey.

All I have to add is just keep trying and seeking help. I've seen ads on TV that there is a new product that is similar to a tampon that is worn internally and helps or stops leakage.

The truth is out there (sorry for the X Files pun)

Yes, by all means, see a urologist! I've had all sorts of testing done there when the pills didn't work.

I think the tampon-like things are useful for leakage that is a result of having children. Some medications can cause it, such as beta blockers. Also being overweight. Doing Kegel exercises can help. Ive also heard of "pelvic floor issues" but dont know much about them.

I have been referred to a urologist and he gave me pills based on my symptoms. It feels the pills made it worse when I "forgot" to take the pills and stopped them thinking the issue is solved. Even being on these pills I still have issues. I did make an appointment which is at the end of the month.

It is upsetting that I need to pee and go when my bladder feels like its about to explode... when dribbles happen and minutes later I need to go back to the washroom for the same thing to happen. Even at night, I need to get up and pee and its not a lot but my bladder feels like it will explode.

I gained weight from being on Lupron for two years and now I am on Depo. From that I am losing the weight I put on, but jezz it is faster to gain weight (I gained a bad amount of weight wheb O started Lupron within a 3 month timeframe) now my weight is decreasing. I really dont feel my weight is the cause. Nor any of my bloodwork for sugar levels as I am not diabetic but close to becoming diabetic.

I guess I am done with this and not saying anything about it or health professionals at my doctors office saying I need to deal with it. I am going back to see the urologist and asking for more testing, I dont care what it is, I want answers.

I have been keeping this way before I told a doctor about it. I still keep it to myself. What say, so I leak pee sometimes and I cabt control it or know when it happens then realize my underwear is wet and urine smelling." its not a conversation I tell others.

I guess, I am in my mid-20s and I have a bladder of an elderly person and leak. Its not something a mid-20 year old will admit.

Its exhausting to ensure I have access to a washroom somewhere and I get anxiety over it.

I guess the pills are not like antibiotics, to where you take them until they kill the cooties and youre cured. Its more like, you have an ongoing condition, like high blood pressure, and you take these pills to CONTROL the condition, and you might have to take them forever unless something happens to CHANGE the existing chronic condition.

Also there are pads, like for your period, but especially for leaks.

I hate that feeling of such a full bladder. I got a really bad bladder infection one time, i forget from what, i just remember it felt like i was sitting on a football! And now some of the fancy new cars have heated seats? I HATE those - they just make me feel like i have to go!

Sorry we werent more help.

Spastic bladder is bothersome. I have it if I take Ritalin. Basically even if you only have a little urine, your bladder will signal to empty. You can feel the need to urinate right after you actually did when there is nothing inside.

Before diagnosing it as just being out of the blue they should check the usual suspects, UTI (which they did), medication that can cause it, and neurological disorders.

In case they cannot find a cause, is the medication OK or does it have side effects?

I don't think any medication is causing this. Its been going on for, well, over two years. I was better before taking the pills (which the side effects for it are low and most get headaches which I dont) and when I miss some pills, well, things are worse than it was before I took them.

Before the pills, after peeing it hurt up to 30 minutes. Being at the toilet and pulling my pants down and then I am peeing my own pants. Or that it hits me and I need a washroom and can't hold it. After the pills, I need to pee more, the pain still happens, noticing leakage, maybe I had that before, I am not sure.

What does neuological disorders have to do with my bladder?

Have you had a CT scan(cat scan)to check for kidney/bladder stones?I went through what you describe and it was a kidney stone that had moved down into my bladder. It took a CT scan to find it though.
