Literally I want to know what you do on an average day. Do you read, watch movies, or have a friend you call up? I would love to take my woodworking more seriously but events have conspired to make that difficult to say the least, I try to read but find my mind drifting and difficult to still. I too often give up and end up watching stupid crap on YouTube for the hundredth time. I want to move away from my hometown but I know my issues would just follow me. I look at my disaster of a house and know I HAVE things to do laundry, dishes etc. but I feel glued to chair for some reason.

I do not work. I have three kids, my youngest is now 15. My oldest turned 23 yesterday and is at school and my middle daughter just turned 19 and is in a sober house. I am married. It used to be a very structured morning of getting people up and out the door for school and work. Now I just have to get my husband out the door and my youngest to school. I wake up at 4 and have a peaceful hour to myself and then the husband is up. We usually have some nice chats in the early morning, he gets up at 5. My youngest is up at 530 and we leave for school at 7 on the mornings I drive her. After they are both gone I usually return to places like this and then I take a shower. I love my mid-morning showers. No one is here to knock on the door and I can blast my music. I tend to have errands and calls to make because I am the "executive" of the family and am responsible for scheduling stuff. Sometimes if I am having a cozy day I will snuggle up with some trashy court tv. I had enrolled in an "intro to teaching" class last fall because I want to go back to school but my son had a stroke in November and it turned my world upside down. I am waiting to see if I need shoulder surgery before I re-enroll. Now that I have written this I see that maybe my life is a little pathetic or simple. I am trying not to feel lame about it, but that is what I do on an average day.

The mother of a preteen, soon to be 13, I juggle my day job - an artisan jeweller with a mix of cooking and writing during the evenings, both of which my talented young Peggy is absolutely great at, and spending my working hours doing specialist jewellery for the Swiss family-owned firm known as the House of GŁbelin.

I live in London, preferring the City to country though during half-term holidays such as this week, spending it in Yorkshire with my older sister, another jeweller.

Currently I am getting over PTSD from a disastrous marriage and finding myself sometimes at odds with my feelings, while during other days, amazingly I feel great. Peg is also a victim of violence, poor dear, though she is being helped by a wonderful lady counsellor. Sadly we lost our mother last Christmas to cancer, and our beloved dog a fortnight ago.

Bereavement is merciless; we have but to take one day at a time. However, finding this wonderful forum has greatly helped us. There are some very lovely people here.

Thank you for making such a great topic.

Wishing you all the very best -

I called in sick to work yesterday, because I have been struggling with early morning awakening. Triggered somewhat by drinking one drink to many the night before. I get so tired I can barely function so I just decided to sleep a little longer. I feel worthless lately. A little nihilistic as well.

I go to school and try to not get much affected by boredom and impulses, and then I come home. When I'm at home I'm pretty much bored and angry, I listen to music the whole day and then I watch some movies or series before going to sleep.

I was a non-working stay-at-home mom, now nearly an empty nester. A few years ago I began to work a sales job as an independent contractor, so I totally control my hours and everything I do in that. Sadly, I canít really focus too much on that job though, as I am dealing with such dysfunction.

I also volunteer with a non-profit, my kidís school, and my professional organization.

My days are spent at home, alone. Iím not doing well emotionally and physically. Iím just resting and trying to care for myself.

I post here, watch a lot of tv, cook and clean. Iím quite happy during days alone at home and enjoy my own company. I also take classes for my job, mostly online. Iím learning a lot.

Iím creative, and I think about trying to write something again. I wrote a full length film before. It wasnít produced and Iím glad for that, tbh. But, I canít concentrate on that right now, still reeling with anger at people who crushed me.

Maybe the only contribution I make to the world is helping someone else here, perhaps?

I'm a full-time student on unpaid placement at the moment, which is like a full-time job but one where you don't get paid. I'm really enjoying my experience. I spend my weekdays there. Afterwards, I usually work on homework, chores/errands that need to be done, spend time with my partner, and play video games or watch Youtube to relax.

The weekends have less structure so I get to sleep in (yay!). It's pretty much the same thing though: homework, chores, errands, gaming, Youtube/television, hanging out with my partner. I prefer to stay home and I'm an introvert so this works out for me.
