Default depressed but not

I hope what I'm feeling makes sense to someone. I hope someone can help me make sense of it. I don't even know if I'm explaining it correctly.
I am depressed but yet I'm not. For every 10 reasons I can give for me being unhappy I can give you 10 reasons to why I am happy. I am happy. I love my family...sometimes. I have good friends. I have a lot of reasons to be happy but yet again I can give you reasons why I am not. I don't know how to explain it. I could think of plenty of reasons to cry and then plenty to smile.
Do you ever get in a blah mood? Maybe that is the mood I'm in. How do you get past it?

depression is not logical. it hits intelligent, beautiful people convincing them otherwise. the best way to pull oneself out is different for everyone, sometimes it just takes time, but it always helps to immerse yourself in something you enjoy doing. distraction is your best tool. your favourite movie, game, or sport or whatever! will help.

Work through whatever I need to sort out, where blahs are concerned. It's a misnomer to see that depression and sulking and melancholy don't belong to someone who has some social reasons for why they 'shouldn't' be depressed. But each individual has their own life story, when added up, even those who upon appearance alone shouldn't, do. Depression affects all demographics,races, religion, etc.

Those of us with mixed state bipolar can feel ups and downs at the same time.

Sometimes, it really does boil down to a "chemical" thing. The right medication can be a real game changer. On the other hand, it can also be a matter of making YOUR "reality" what you want it to be - making a conscious choice to focus on what you want to focus on, and ignoring / banishing what you don't. As the others said - finding a distraction when things are pulling you down, to refocus your mind when it starts that seemingly endless circling, can help.

Major Depression
Anxiety attacks
Panic attacks
Manic depression (that's what it was called when I was diagnosed with it)

some of that I believe, some I don't, and I'm convinced they missed a lot

citalopram HBR 10 mg (yay yay yay!)
meloxicam 7.5 mg
Hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg

I felt the same way but my therapist clarified that I was depressed because I told her how bad I felt. I have a roof over my head, food on the table, friends, etc. so I thought I shouldn't be allowed to be depressed. It's basically fighting with yourself and it gets confusing and irritating. I totally get you. I am happy right now but can feel like **** a few hours later. I'm getting medication soon this week for depression for the first time. Keep in touch . Good luck.

I deeply understand that feeling, I am kind of depressed, fake by the distortion of thoughts!
