I agree that it should not be considered a trademark since it is from an African language. It's like, say, an African movie company trying to trademark the English words "no worries."

Anything that hurts a big corporation like Disney makes me happy.

Then again, I am biased against Disney because I'm still mad at them for ruining Star Wars lol

I gave up on Star Wars after the pathetic excuse of a movie that "The Force Unleashed" was. Like seriously, Kylo Ryn was such a ***** that I couldn't take him seriously. I do admit the cross guard lightsaber was kinda cool but that's about the only good thing about that movie.

I haven't seen the Star Wars movies that came out after and I stopped keeping track of how many there are now so IDK if any good ones came out since but it's not worth my time. If I ever need a Star Wars fix in the future I will go watch Clones or play the old KOTOR games.

But anyways not to derail this topic further lol I find the idea of a live action Lion King movie amusing (and not in a good way). I mean, did they really run out of ideas? LOLOL

I won't be watching it

as much as I love the lion king, and anything to do with it, I don't watch remakes of originals when the original is perfectly good (and from what I hear a lot of sceens in the new one are identical to the original)

as for them running out of ideas, I support this theory

just yesterday, I read that johny dep had been axed from playing jack sparrow because disney wanted to "reboot the series with new life."

it's been out 5 years. which is barely anything compared to most of them

I agree.
I love that song. Having said that that is a saying that originated in Africa. Disney has no moral rights to trademark that saying. It makes me angry that they would even try. Money Money money. Corporate Greed. The song may have been created in the US but the saying was long established in Africa. Maybe the Africans should claim rights and subsidiaries for each time the song is sung. Maybe this and other matters should be tried in an international fair trade court?

Ugg boots have been made and worn in Australia for decades but it was never patented so some american company swoops and and gets the sole right to the brand name Ugg and Aussie businesses have either gone under or are going under.

But yes, I have the lion king on DVD and a couple of DVD cartoons with Timon and Pumba. Great movies.
