Default Cape Town, South Africa close to being out of water.

Cape Town, South Africa is critically in danger of running out of water, thanks to Global Warming causing the worst drought in 100 years. Such a big city being out of water is huge, and could be the eye opener we need to realize what damage we are doing to our planet. Or, we could yet again ignore it and place a bandage over it to make ourselves feel better. Whichever it is, I am seriously worried for our friends in South Africa.

So sad. I think the government should put an end to the price gouging on bottled water to make getting it easier.

this is the future i'm terrified of. we're killing the planet and getting what we deserve, but of course the people actually responsible are too rich and powerful to actually be the ones affected. everyone else is expendable to them.

Cape Town has done a fantastic job to nearly be through the worst of it. Daily water consumption for the whole city has cut down to nearly 1/3 during the summer months (Cape Town gets their rain in Winter, July - November ish)
It has taken a lot of effort and the reality of how it could have ended up is really scary. I just hope we can carry on improving like we are, until the dams are filled to the brim again.
