I discovered guided mediation a couple weeks ago and love it! I use YouTube guided mediations. My fave 2 are meditation vacation and Jason Stephenson. (Guess its the accents) It has done wonders for my anxiety

I did a lot better today. I was able to meditate for 13 minutes while exhausted. I was proud of myself.

But yesterday went a little bit like this:

Guided Voice: Now, become aware of your physical surroundings and slowly open your eyes.

Me: *Eyes already open. Slurps soup absentmindedly while listening to the voice *

...I could have done way better. I find that I meditate better while lying down. It's easy to become uncomfortable and stop meditating while sitting up cross-legged.

Anyone else practice meditation and mindfulness? If so, do you use apps, YouTube? Guided or unguided meditations? Also, does anyone use Youper or Wysa for therapy? I find that they help a lot for when you don't have a therapist. They don't take the place of a real one, but they do a good job.
I try to meditate but it never goes well. My mind keeps yammering on and my ear worms play music...🤕

I guess I should go on YouTube to look for more meditations then. For the most part, I look for meditation apps in the Goolge Play store, which are all great, but I like variety. I've noticed that some meditations work well and others just don't.

You guys are right, though. It does get better with practice. So far, I've been sticking to 5 - 8 minutes until I'm able to do longer sessions.

I hear you. It seems when I stop to meditate the first thing I become aware of is all the thoughts going on Oh well, fortunately the goal is to watch thoughts or sensations and just let them go. If I had to find a way to stop the thoughts I might never meditate.

This video helps me let go YouTube

If you want to see the whole set of short 3-4 minute talks about mindfulness YouTube

I agree! Meditation take times to practice.
