Yeah, I am glad I have mostly supportive people around me who I have less contact with. My college professors (especially the geology and chemistry department) are very supportive to me, as are my doctors and my maternal relatives. But what's even more amazing is that I am somewhat normal even after going through so much on-going torment.

I don't know. I find more "normal" people to be freakier than I am. I mean, I don't cut right in front of somebody in traffic and make them slam their brakes. I sure don't get so drunk to stumble, wet my pants or puke in the parking lot.

I do not believe that disability equals “freak”

Disturbed relationships, like isolation, social anxiety and feeling different than others, are common symptoms found in people with C-PTSD. I think the term “freak” might not be something that others think about us, but it is something that we think about ourselves. We are the ones who feel like aliens due to our trauma.

Not a FREAK, just different! I used to joke in college at UK that I was not a Greek, but a freak when people asked about sororities. That was decades ago. I believe stigma and ignorance are why people choose labels such as freak, crazy, and nuts for that which they are unable to understand. Just my opinion.
