Default Maternal deprivation affects the brain

Even Brief Maternal Deprivation Early in Life Alters Adult Brain Function and Cognition - Neuroscience News

It's interesting how as we study the brain more we are learning the science behind what happens in a young child who is neglected. Nurturing and understanding "how" to nurture a child so the child develops good mental health that lasts a lifetime for that child is very important. There is NO true substitute for the warmth and closeness that a human child needs from the mother. One thing I have told young parents, "Take the time to nurture because you don't get a redo".

I would add its not only neglect of physical nurturing Its the lack of emotional nurturing too. Lets just say I know from personal experience.

I wonder if being in a humidicrib further impacts the neglect from parents.
