Default Is everyone with bpd afraid of rejection?

My family dr said he thinks I could have bpd. I'm not afraid of rejection, most of the time I prefer to isolate myself anyway.

But if you're isolating yourself out of fear of rejection....?

IIRC there's 9 criteria items and one has to meet 5 of them for a diagnosis. Basically one doesn't have to have fear of rejection to be diagnosed BPD. However, it is common.

Well, I think I have a normal fear of rejection but thats not why I isolate. I isolate because of social anxiety, terrible self esteem and jut generally feeling like crap.

I was diagnosed with BPD quite a few years ago. Although I don't meet the criteria anymore, I never had an abnormal fear of rejection or any of the interpersonal symptoms, really. I had:

-Unclear/unstable self-image
-Chronic emptiness
-Self-harm behaviours
-Mood swings
-Dissociation/paranoia

So you can have some of the symptoms, but not all.

While I've never been officially diagnosed with BPD, in part because I can't afford to see a psychologist, I can relate with having "traits" of BPD.

I can relate to most of your symptoms but only for me, I am sensitive to rejection but my mood swings are relatively mild and I don't go around seeking relationships since I'm an introvert with poor social skills and all.

I don't think that any two people are the same, nor do I think that any two people with BPD diagnosis have identical symptoms.
