Default Summer makes me feel SO much worse

The abundance of half-naked women everywhere in the summer makes me feel so much worse. I'm constantly comparing myself to others anyway, but in the summer I walk down the street and see literally hundreds of women with tanned, flawless legs and it's completely unavoidable.

If I'm with my partner I feel such shame that I'm not like them and he must think how he could do much better when better is in his face everywhere we turn. People love hot weather but I absolutely hate it and feel quite suicidal with despair. Does anyone else feel like this?

is it wrong that when I first read this post, what sprang to mind was the lyric from the rolling stones song paint it black

" I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes,

I have to turn away until my darkness goes"

yeah... but I know what you mean, I do- I hate the hot weather too.

luckily for me (maybe?), I'm agoraphobic- so don't really get out much during the summer anyway, and if I do, it's only to places like the shops or an appointment.

but I'm glad.

I wouldn't cope on a beach or something like that, what you said, all those beautiful women....

I do relate to this. Summer is even harder with my particular topic of BDD too. (And I hate hot weather just unto itself as it is.) You're not alone.

Makes me sick to the heart, Oh I feel so tired. And the way the rain comes down hard, that's how I feel inside.

I totally get it. I donít even own a bathing suit bc forget going to a beach. I look at women with perfect bodies in their perfect clothes and it makes me feel awful. I completely isolate myself. Just so much easier that way.

I actually "dropped a safety behaviour" this week by going alone to a beach for a swim. It was OK when hardly anyone was around, but before long there were young women with tanned, flawless bodies EVERYWHERE. I literally didn't see a single woman with cellulite or blotchy white skin. Why do I never see young guys with amazing bodies walking around anywhere?? Exposure therapy is hell and does not work, imo. Just because I force myself to do stuff I hate it doesn't make me hate it any less.

Last summer I tried going to a beach with my partner and I got myself into such a state that I self-harmed. We got cut off by the tide and had to wade through to the main beach which was crowded, so I felt totally humiliated while my boyfriend got a close-up look at all these hot women. He KNOWS how much it upsets me but he never turns away, which I find very disrespectful when I'm standing right next to him.

My ex googled women in front of me all the time. I hated it and at that time I looked good. Now I have an amazing boyfriend who doesn't look when Im around. I was so blown away by this and asked him about it. He said that it was disrespectable to do that.

I hate summer too. I've gained 30 pounds on vraylar and I get sun cancer so I try to avoid the hot hours. I wear long sleeve white t-shirts and cool sweatpants that are baggy. Then I don't feel so fat.
