bluebicycle, it sounds like you're aiming to seek treatment for unipolar depression and maybe also ADHD? And not bipolar disorder? I'm not sure your psychiatrist knows that, or do they?

Be very careful! If you have bipolar disorder, taking only an antidepressant and stimulant could be very dangerous. I really wish you were more honest with your psychiatrist.

I won't write anymore about this. I don't quite see how I can support you more.

This is a bipolar forum so most people, if they have any experience, are going to have had a bad experience not taking their prescribed antipsychotic while at the same time upping an antidepressant and a stimulant to boot.

If you don't have bipolar then the advise here is likely not going to be of much value.

Maybe you can also post in a forum for people with depression or with adhd?

Are you still sensing the supernatural force, and believing your therapist and pdoc hid cameras to spy on you. How are the popping noises?

I'm so sorry you're hurting so much, bluebycicle I completely agree with what all the others have already wisely said better than I ever could. You've been given some great advice on this thread. I'd suggest to follow it if you can. I completely agree with BirdDancer. Be careful when you're managing your meds. It could be really dangerous for your own health. I'm sure you'll be able to manage it, but please listen to what your Pdoc has to say. He's there to help you after all. I understand it's hard. Please try to listen to him if you can. It's your own health we're talking about it. As for how you're feeling right now, the only way to know for sure is to talk to your Pdoc about this and see how it goes from there, like all the other people in this thread have already wisely suggested. It may be caused by some side effects from the meds you're taking. Hopefully you'll be able to find the right meds combination for yourself. I'm so sorry you're going through all of this. I hope things will get better soon for you. Please don't give up. Remember that we're here for you if you need it. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. I'm so sorry you have to deal with all of this, bluebycicle. You're a strong, wonderful person. I'm sure you'll be able to get through all of this. Keep fighting! You're awesome! You're strong! You're a warrior! You can do this! I believe in you! We all believe in you! We're all rooting for you! Please don't give up! Try to hang on! I'm so sorry you're going through all of this

Ever since my pdoc upped my lexapro dose, I haven’t been able to stop pacing around. I literally can’t sit still in one spot for more than a few minutes. For example, I squirm in my chair at work—often changing positions—and have to constantly be walking around. My heart is racing as well. I feel like I need to be on the move, and I even fidget while walking. Figuratively speaking, I feel like I have some sort of “energy” emanating from my legs, if that makes sense. And that “energy” is why I keep pacing. I want to burn it off so that I can relax. But of course I can never seem to burn it off...

I got to work at 5:30 this morning and paced around the building for a solid 20 mins (because no one was here).

Is this Akathisia or something else?
Sigh. Well, it could be akathisia, rising hypomania, or a mixed episode, but whatever it is, this is what comes of playing doctor, denying symptoms and picking and choosing meds based on that denial. Sorry to be so blunt.

When I was on lexapro, it was because I was misdiagnosed MDD (by a GP). Not grasping that my overly-high energy reaction to it was due to BP, she increased it, which of course only made things worse. It was a hellish time, till I got properly dx'd, off the lexapro and got on a mood stabilizer.

It pains me to think where this is headed (and in fact has already shown itself through paranoia etc.). I wouldn't wish that road on anyone, least of all you. Please be 100% honest with your pdoc. He cannot help you if you are going to play games.

I wish only the best for you. Please take care.

Unfortunately this is part of the illness sometimes.

So just an update...

I had my pdoc appt today and I told him about the pacing and restlessness. We're going to reduce the lexapro. Also, he thinks that I need something for my anxiety (he didn't say if the restlessness/pacing was from the lexapro, but apparently my therapist had told him about the anxiety), so he prescribed BuSpar, 15mg... I said nothing about anxiety to him. So for now, going down from 10mg to 5mg of lexapro and I guess I'm going to try BuSpar.

Anyone try BuSpar? Is it more effective for anxiety than other things?

Did you tell your pdoc you have not been taking the Rexulti he prescribed?

Yeah, I admitted to not taking it. He told me again to take it. He said that I am not asymptomatic and that I am "prescribed it for a reason." He said it should help with my anxiety/paranoia of people watching me.

I'm just afraid my depression will return when I start taking the lower Lexapro dose. I need to lower the dose, though, because I can't stand the restless feeling. I was pacing all day at work yesterday and ended up leaving early because I was going nuts.
