I had a very bad day yesterday that started out with my undiagnosed 31 year old son having one of his temper outbursts which spiraled out of control so bad that my 63 year old step dad had to pin him to the wall but yet he continued to blame me for his outbursts, al little l received a phone call from my siblings that my bio father had a stroke and we had to go to Saginaw a 2 hour trip from here, thank God it was a small one but because of a triple bi pass 3 years ago he's high risk for more, today I'm feeling a little manic and fortunately for me I don't have a lot of manic episodes unfortunately for me I don't know how to handle them

I'm so sorry, Lost child That's a lot to go through in one day. I'm glad your father is doing ok. Why is your son undiagnosed? Does he refuse to get any treatment? He definitely needs some help if that happens often. I'm so sorry you're feeling manic. Do you see a therapist? Maybe that could help. If you have a Pdoc, you can try to contact him/her and ask for help. Are you taking any meds at the moment? I'm so sorry, I hope you'll feel better soon. Keep writing here if it help. My son only has Medicaid and we haven't been able to find a provider but when I do find one he makes some kind of excuse for not wanting to go, he's 31 what am am I supposed to do I can't make him but unfortunately he would literally die if I made him leave, I'm almost positive he has an extreme case of antiavoidant personality disorder. I'm surprised I'm not more manic than I am but I see both a therapist and psychiatrist

He was diagnosed as a child with o.d.d., ADHD, anxiety and depressions and emotional impairment, let me tell you he put me through it, babysitters would call me at work quiting and one of those were my mom! I've lost a lot of jobs because of this. Now that he's an adult I know there's something else and I believe 100% he has anti avoidant personality disorder.

I understand that you think he would die if you made him leave but you will live in chaos indefinitely if he stays. I think you should give him an ultimatum about getting help and if he flips out have the police at the ready to intervene. If you feel like he is a danger to himself or others you can talk to the police ahead of time and have them take him for a 72 hour evaluation if he flips out. You are not helping him any by letting this go on.

Another thing I thought of, and I dont mean to be harsh but you are doing him a disservice by not getting him help. I cant imagine he wants to live that way either.

That's the plan next time he flips out I'm calling the police so they will make him go to Network 180 it's open 24 hours a day for psych evaluations but he's already been there a couple of times for suicidal thoughts and they've sent him home
