Pros: Somewhat clarifying in description of BPD
Cons: Limited discussion of BPD and BPD treatment

Everyone seems to recommend this book to someone looking for more information about BPD, but I think there are better books, including "Sometimes I Act Crazy" by the same author/s, and Understanding the Borderline Mother by Christine Lawson, as well as various websites.I was glad to see that in their 2nd book on BPD, the author/s present a more positive prognosis for those with BPD and acknowledge a broader array of effective treatments.

Pros: very interesting as well informative
Cons: Somewhat outdated

This was my first book I read about BPD after being diagnosed and acknowledging it. For so many years I refused to believe that I had a personality disorder... but I went ahead and did some research and read this book. I couldn't put it down! I was stunned -- was this book written about me!? I re-read the book multiple times over a long weekend, continually going back and taking notes. This book opened my eyes. It may not be the "best" BPD book but I am grateful that I had the opportunity to read it. It changed my life...and probably saved my life as well.Great introduction to learning and understanding BPD.

Pros: Extremely informative and useful
Cons: Some of the case studies were rather harsh

This book really helped my husband to understand me, and it helped me to know I'm not just crazy!
