Default DD/bg and depression

If you don't know what DD/bg is don't worry about it.... I just was trying to seek some people that *know* what that is...

I'm sure we all know what depression is.
Anyway...My partner has chronic depression and in a dark place right now. I'm having a hard time not making it about me. In my head, I know this has nothing to do with me. However my heart just really hurts.
I listen to him when he is able to share with me where he is...
But I have a hard time talking my own feelings about this. I have a fear that if I told him about my own feelings with all this he may not share with me anymore. Plus, I don't want to add to his sadness....

What have other's done when your partner is going through depression?
Thanks

Hello and welcome to Psych Central!

The main thing is to try to be supportive. Of course, don't suggest that they are being lazy or don't want to get better. Certainly don't make them feel guilty about it. Encourage them to see a doctor and to take their medications.

I would like to know what DD/bg is, please.

Thanks for your reply. DD/bg is DaddyDOM/babygirl kinda relationship dynamic. Kinda like Dominate/submissive but with a twist. BDSM, if you will...but no one relationship fits in a nice little box.
I'm a babygirl/submissive/little... so many lables
