PROS: Great for anxiety, depression, mania, helps you fall asleep
CONS: Slight tiredness in morning

Great response with only25-50mg. Worked well with my other meds. No problems except minor morning tiredness.

PROS: Keeps me from commiting suicide
CONS: Make me sleep a lot

It has kept my self harm under control. It has also taken away my suicidal thoughts. I had attempted suicide two times; but not since taking this medication. It makes me really goofy and tired, but dealing with these side effects... is more than worth it!!! I couldn't and wouldn't be able to cope without Seroquel.

PROS: Stops Brain rasing thoughts - anxiety crying your iminagiation running wild with negative thoughts
CONS: Caution: use lowest possible dosage even cut in 1/2 your given dossage

Second day on it with major positive results ..1st day 25 mg. stay at home felt a sedative also took Remeron (Mirtazapine) 30mg at bedtime.I was in seriously bad shape with major grief and anxiety so serious I thought I has 25 signs of some fatal illness along with hyperventilation it could not stop any major crying episodes and brain racing thoughts I could not control. could not sleep was a nervous wreck - could not stop complaining to my friends and too nervous to sleep with nightmares.I entered a Major intensive Medical - Psych MD. program (1st day) and was given these meds under strict Psych MD supervision and tons of major psychiatric outpatient daily care. Well from feeling as described above I could sleep last night and feel at bit drowsy today . But having enough interest and control and major calmness I haven't had in months ---to write this review in a clam collected manor. WOW!I do know that a tiny but too much Seroquel can and will turn you into a Zombie. this is an extremely powerful drug. I'm lowering my dosage to 1/2 of my 25 MG pill and 1 or two daily pills a day. This not a drug you ever want to think More is better .... If you take or were given too much your experience will be Zombie like, and you want to stop immediately because you initially too even a 12.5 MG too much..too soon to give a definitive prospective but OMG today I feel great but a little tired but a 1000% better them yesterday before I took my 1st 25MG pill.these are my result only and my Not reflect anyone but me. used only supervision of my Psych MD.early adapter

PROS: stabilized mood, little weight gain, got rid of auditory hallucinations
CONS: really drowsy, was becoming dependent on drug

I would really recommend this to anyone with bipolar disorder because I would have very severe mood changes and with this they were farther apart and less extreme. Worked really well for helping with delusions as well.

PROS: Turns brain off from racing thoughts. Allows me to sleep!
CONS: Intitally, super sedating, sleeping for 14+ hours.

I've been on Quetipine for over 2 years now. Started on 100mg, then slowly bumped up to 600mg. Anything over 600mg gives me heart palpitations. I have gotten used to the sedative effects and I now only sleep about 9 hours, waking up refreshed with no hangover. When I first started I had hangover fog every morning and it was terrible, but now it is gone. I haven't gained any weight, so for me it is weight neutral. I absolutely love Seroquel and couldn't imaging living without it. It has a common side effect of raising blood sugars, but I have found for me not to be the case. All in all, it's really up to the persons physiology. It works for some, not others. Just be for warned, it takes sometimes several weeks to get over the hangover effect. It took me almost 6 weeks.

PROS: It numbed my brain and forced me to sleep.
CONS: I gained over 100 lbs. When I overdosed on it I was seeing hallucinations for days.

I was prescribed this medication for sleep when I was suffering from mild anxiety. I became addicted and stayed on it for over 6 years. I gained over 100 pounds and had terrible side effects. My nose was always stuffy to the point it was embarrassing to talk. My hands would twitch and I was told that was normal. When I overdosed, I had major hallucinations and twitches. I was relieved the doctors in the psyche-ward finally took me off them. They said that I should never been prescribed them because they are only approved for bipolar and I in no way have bipolar.

PROS: Helped me sleep, until...
CONS: debilitating side effects

Worked okay for the first 3 months. Then movement disorder which started with restless legs and progressed to flailing arms in addition to the former. Ended with little muscle control. Couldn't sleep with involuntary flailing limbs.

PROS: None
CONS: Extreme drowsiness

Took at night, provided no sleep benefits. Did nothing for my mental health. Extreme sleepiness lingered into the next day, often for the entire day.

PROS: I sleep
CONS: Heart Palpitations of dosages above 700mg

I take the IR version. It is the ONLY thing to put me to sleep. Without it I will not sleep, sometimes for days. I love Seroquel, I haven't noticed any weight changes, but I'm a big guy to begin with.

PROS: SLEEP! OMG IT'S A MIRACLE!!!!!
CONS: fat and always hungry

I was on it for about 6 months (400mg, nothing else) and did fine. Got good grades, slept 8 hrs almost every night, felt pretty good. Had a decent appetite, REMEMBERED to eat. Then, I lost my ins and couldn't afford it (no generic back then, it was $400 a bottle).Went back on it a bout 4 days ago (generic this time) with lamictil and risperdal. Swung from the depths of the worst depression I've suffered from in years to my current (manic as hell) state. It's probably a combined effect, or just a change of season... Either way, I'm getting about 5-6 hours of sleep each night which is WAY more than I usually get whether manic or depressed.

PROS: sleeeeeep
CONS: sleeeeeep

I think it should be noted that if you have underlying conditions, many psych meds or really any new med might trigger an aspect of that underlying condition and/or make it worse. This I believe was the case for me with Seroquel. Now, some years later I have been officially Dx w/ Type 2 Diabetes - which I probably had even at the time I was taking the drug. As such it likely was messing with my already high blood sugar - if that is the case, it's rather unfair for me to say that the drug itself is bad. What I do know is that 1/2 hr after taking Seroquel dose, I would be so sleepy I often had to crawl to my bed. Pretty soon I would take it and immediately get in bed to avoid that problem. Mentally, it didn't seem to make much difference.

PROS: Good for sedation purposes
CONS: Irritability, drowsiness

Made me fall asleep fairly quickly, but was irritable and very tired the following morning. Didn't help with anxiety, either. It was successful in slowing my brain down but didn't improve my mood.

CONS: Groggy the next day

It works very well for sleep but i find myself very tired and groggy the next day and tend to fall asleep a lot. This stuff knocks you on your butt.

PROS: Amazing for sleep.
CONS: Weight gain, increased appetite, difficulty in waking up in the morning, fatigue, caused hallucinations and delusions. And the withdrawal was HORRIBLE.

I have BD1 and I took 100mg QHS to help me sleep. Normally I would have a much higher dose to help stabilize my mood but with my age (17 at the time) my doctor wasn't comfortable putting it above a sleeping dose. It knocked me out very quickly which was good, but I was difficult to rouse in the morning. I gained 20lbs in two months on it. I had horrible night carb cravings so when the sedative effect was just starting I would stumble from my room to the kitchen as if I were drunk and do things like drink an entire gallon of milk or take three boxes of crackers back up into my bedroom and eat most of them, leaving the rest to get mixed into my sheets. It also made me hallucinate, depersonalize, and become delusional. I tapered off of it for a month which was the worst month of my life. It basically put me in a mixed episode as well as making me extremely nauseous, gave me insomnia, caused uncontrollable, excessive, idiopathic sobbing and crying fits. Easily one of the worst medications I've ever had the misfortune of taking.

PROS: Levels out the extreme moods of BP
CONS: Sleep a lot, esp. during the day, a lot of weight gain

I've been on Seroquel for over ten years and so I've experienced a lot of the good this med does as well as the negs. I hate the weight gain, but like the sleep I can now get (even though there's too much sleep). Most importantly, I don't have severe manic episodes, although sometimes I feel numb.

PROS: helped me achieve sleep at night, cleared most hallucinations
CONS: made me sleep all the time, dry mouth

i found the hypersomnolence to impact my life a great deal. I sleep all day and night most of the time. Works better if you eat before daytime doses to manage sleepiness.

PROS: Removes anxiety, nausea, manic symptoms
CONS: Makes one a little woosie for a while.

I give seroquel the respect it has given me. It made me go from suicidal and hospitalized to just fine with only ONE bedtime dose!! I plan on taking it as long as possible. Kelti...

PROS: Stopped my extreme anxiety and the nausea (suicidal) that goes along with it.
CONS: Makes me a little unsteady on my feet.

I have been taking seroquel since August 2012. I was in the hospital at the time for a breakdown, suicidal. Seroquel took away all my anxiety and 'killer' nausea in just ONE dose! I was perfectly fine the next am after I took it! I get a little woosie right after I take it but it doesn't last long, and I don't get woosie after every dose either. This drug saved my life. I thank God for it. I know a lot of people don't have much to say in favour of the drug, but hey, it works for me. Kelti...

PROS: Very quick fall asleep time and very good nights sleep on 25mg.
CONS: After few months took longer to fall a sleep and until Idid I had to walk around could not sit due to very bad leg cramps.

Don't like being forced into the Yes/no recommendation. For all meds You gotta decide if the benifits out weigh the costs. I can only tell you my experience, and you have to weigh the cost for yourself. I had 25mg PRN for sleep & nightmares from PTSD. I really did like sleeping, this is the one drug that has always put me to sleep and kept me asleep. Sleep has been an issue my intire life. As I type I've been up all night, I Ambian and a benzo combo now and it doesn't work as well. I have to take breaks all the time to keep from from getting a physical dependence that will make the Ambian/benzo totally useless. Seroquel works but for me there was a price. After a while I couldn't pay it any more the leg cramps just became too painful. I also started getting high trig levels and I was only on 25mg. So a few years ago I said goodbye.

PROS: none
CONS: SLLLEEEPPPYYY

This practically put me in a coma. I slept at least 14 hrs, a day. When I was awake, I couldn't tell that I was awake, a type of hallucinating. Depression was way worse. Major suicidal thoughts and outbursts of self-mutilating.

PROS: Helped decrease depressive symptoms and helped insdomnia
CONS: Dry mouth, next day drowsiness early in treatment, risk of movement disorder

This medication helped slightly with depression but was better for anxiety and insomnia.Sometimes it causes bothersome dry mouth but most of the time it is not a problem.Early in treatment, I felt groggy the next day but this passed within two weeks.May have decreased mood swings.

PROS: sleep well get up easier been more alert during the day
CONS: PRICE!!!!!

Dosage dosage dosage. So when on 100 mg I loved it because it helped me sleep. However, I hated it because I already had problems getting up in the morning now with this i had even more problems. Then the doc increased the dosage o 200 mg and now not only do i sleep good ive been getting up easier as well. The downside is that it is freaking expensive but i refuse to try something else because this seems to be working pretty well. Warning! though do not even think of missing a dose! You'll be all wacked out and have withdrawl symptons. I had problem refilling once and was off it for almost a week. I felt like total crap and was an emotional mess.

PROS: Helped me sleep
CONS: none

I was given this med primarily to help me sleep at night. I have rapid cycling bipolar disorder, anxiety, and delayed sleep phase syndrome. This med will knock you out like no other.

PROS:
CONS:

I have been on Seroquel by emedoutlet for 4 months now. I have terrible insomnia and racing thoughts because of my bipolar disorder. This drug worked wonders for me and now I can finally sleep at night without my mind racing for hours.

PROS: None for me
CONS: Expensive, made symptoms worse, possible withdraw symptoms when stopping the medicine.

My doctor started me on seroquel for anxiety, panic attacks, and night terrors. I took 50 mg a day for four days. All my symptoms seemed to worsen the second day taking seroquel. The night terrors were much worse and I felt irritable and frustrated all day. After stopping the medication I became seriously physically ill and ended up in the emergency room. This is definitely not a medicine for everyone.

PROS: Stopped my hallucinations decreased my anxiety. Decreased my paranoia.
CONS: made me tired, slight wieght gain

I think this has been a good drug for me. I take it in combination with haldol. I’ve taken a bunch of meds but these 2 meds are the first that healed me of hallucinations and paranoia. I had a slight weight gain but exercise helped with that.

PROS: Ummmm.....let me think-maybe I can think of something....
CONS: Too many to list...side effects is a good start!

Horrid side effects that sent me to the ER on Thanksgiving day, thank you! Dinner was saved, but a cold plate? I'd rather take something with fewer side effects and drug-drug interactions, and not risk permanent disability. I'll pass!

PROS: decreased mood swings I guess
CONS: WEIGHT GAIN

Gained soooo much weight. Night eating and everything. I would have less mood swings but feel more depressed if that makes any sense because of the weight gain.

PROS: helps with sleep, helps mood swings really effectively
CONS: felt numb, soooo tired always, vivid nightmares, apathy

This med has helped a lot of people I know but I could not take it. I had a doctor give it to me for sleep and mood swings after my fathers death. Boy did I ever sleep.... 0_0. I had no mood swings... I had no mood. I was numb... essentially all it did for me was put off the grieving process for my father. Many meds seem to effect me very hard or not really much at all. Black and white. If you are an insomniac and don't have to function for a couple days, you can definately sleep on this, though.

PROS: Better sleep at night. Less paranoid thinking.
CONS: Weight gain, dizziness at times, pretty expensive with no insurance.

I have taken this med. for years off and on. The first time I took too much and wandered out of my bedroom in a panic naked. But after gradually increasing, the med. helped with paranoid thoughts and fantasies of others "messing with me" or being out to get me. It did make me gain weight and sleep too much at times. It does help with the quality of sleep and how much I sleep.
