I am with you. Can't talk to someone for at least 10 days. I have been slowly and deliberately forcing myself to do little things like wash my hair and play with my son. I'm about to go to the store for bagels. It sounds sillybbut maybe if you do something you think you can't do right now you will feel just the tiniest bit better. Otherwise, let it out here or in a journal. Glad you can talk to your doctor tomorrow!

Hi Shery and Wildflower child, I completely relate, I am very depressed. Just forcing myself to do a little something like you mentioned doesn't make me feel happy, but I do feel like I've accomplished something. Usually I clean a bit of the house where I am living! I have no friends, support system or doctor here. I think it's so great that there are these forums. Write your thoughts here, whatever it is you're dealing with - I'll check back later and reply. I am here just to listen. For me, that's helped just connecting with a human. Last night I called a warm line and although I didn't feel happy afterwards, it was very nice to have someone listen for 20 mins. who understood what depression is like.

Since you live with your husband, does it help when you do something nice for him, like make him a surprise meal or anything else to cherish him? Not sure, but what do you think?

Sending you a hug, I understand.

Thanks gracez,
Thanks I too called a support line lastnight because I didn.t want to bother my husnabd. He is retired now so I surprise he less but when I am not depressed I do nice things for him. When I am depressed like now I seem to think only of myself

Hi Shery, yes, I know this, this is one of the big symptoms. It's so hard not to be drawn into yourself when there's such pain. Even if I'm around people I feel this way, is that your experience? I try to force myself to do something for someone else anyway sometimes I can't say that it's much of a relief, but maybe it could be for you. Sometimes I get tired of people telling me to try this or that because it seems I'm not making any progress. I don't have a miracle answer...but I'm appreciative of hearing your experience and want to know how you're doing.

Was calling the support line helpful? Take care

Hi Penguinsing,

I just googled "warmline" and my city. I think there are many, but this is what I googled.

Warmlines - has a list by city / state
