Default Does your mind race when you go to bed?

I find it really difficult most of the time to get to sleep at night because my mind races. I have to tell my pdoc about it next appt.

It also races during the day and I hate it.

Does this happen to everyone else and, if so, how do you deal with it?

This happens to me alot, as soon as my head hits the pillow my mind starts, my jaw clenches and i cant relax. I rarely get racing thoughts during the day.

My mind is an award winning marathon runner, it wins
gold every night. It tends to do it throughout the day as well
People speak to me and I do not hear them. They get upset
But I am so far in my head I don't realize they are talking.

I've started doing crossword puzzles until I can't keep my eyes open. It is however costing me a small fortune in crossword puzzle books.

My mind has always been like a hamster on its wheel - running in circles all night with no stopping.
Until I got my dx - my pdoc gave me some meds that actually allow me to sleep all night - wonder of wonders. I wonder how long until they don't work anymore (like all the other meds I've tried).

I told both T and pdoc about it and pdoc gave me Hydroxyzine for it. I take 50mg and play bejeweled on my phone until I fall asleep- works amazing!

Hi my thoughts race all the time however when I go to bed that's when it becomes worse as there are nothing to distract me.
In fact I dread bed time, because of this reason and also because I have re occurring nightmares or dreams that I think are real the following morning.
So what I do now is I take my mobile to bed and read the forums on here, talk about whatever I need to such as any worries I have that day etc until my eyes are so tired I just need to sleep.
I call it my 'ME' time lol.
It works for me and helps answer my questions and understand my mental health a little better, so maybe you could give it a go? No harm in trying.
I do take sleeping pills but they do nothing unfortunately.
I do hope you find a way to relax when you go to bed.
Take care
JK

I can remember way back, as a little kid, unable to sleep because my mind kept going, going, going. By third or fourth grade I started making up dialogues. Of course I'd be playing both parts, but somehow that slowed me down & I was able to sleep. Quit working by college; then I'd have to physically wear myself out if I were to have a chance of sleeping much.

But during the day? No, not so bad.
